phobias of the afterlife.

my one phobia about death is the thought of there being nothing but a black empty void after we go. i like to believe in reincarnation because it makes sense to me but when doubt creeps up it scares me to think that the afterlife will be just an unending empty existence where i cant see or feel and everything is silent. similar to purgatory i guess, but forever and without anything there but the dark.

Similar takes on this?

I don't really worry about it. I feel that we will come back tho. But not only as another human...I think we can come back as anything...a tree, a hamster, a duck, a stick-bug (HOPE NOT ME! lol), a flower, anything alive. Actually, one of the things that I think proves this is that we have phobias, cause otherwise where do these irrational fears come from, ya know. Like, I have never been near a fire, but if so much as a fire alarm goes off I freak out...total panic attack. Also, it explains relationships with others too, I think....like the odd relationship I shared with my father...we just didn't like each other...and there seems to be little, if any, real reason for that. But maybe both these things can be explained by a past life...like maybe he set me on fire or something (lol) I dunno. I just know that I do believe in reincarnation because of the unexplained feelings, relationships, etc we feel in this life. So don't worry Teo, no blackness and nothingness for us...just another turn on the ol' merry-go-round called life. :)

thanx for the reassurance meshell. i totally agree about reincarnation...thats a cool way of looking at it as explanation for some of our phobias. but then it could work the other way right...kind of weird because i love fire. have since i was little, bit of an obsession (though i havent discussed it on that tribe) / passion... so maybe this fascination is also because of a past life experience.
Hey don’t you find it funny that when people have their past read, they always were big important people or rulers in their past lives and never just normal, everyday people like some market seller or store clerk.

Yeah, that's very weird. I have never had a past life reading, but I figure I was an arabian princess...no, lol...a handsome night in shining armor...nah, lol...i dunno. Maybe I should get a reading. hmmm

A gypsy boy once told me that I had been a farmer's wife in my life before this one. somehow, I believe him, besides the fact that he has been the most accurate psychic EVER, everything he told has happened just as he said it would.

I also beleive in re-encarnation, but only that we come back as people, but not as animals or plants, THAT would scare me ;-P

    arabian princess sounds cool.
itd be interesting to get a reading if just for fun to see what extravagant life they say you had. farmers wife, that sounds a bit more believable.
wouldn’t you want to try life in the ocean or find out what its like to fly?
if only people, what happens to everything else…do all dogs go to heaven?

I've always believed my hamster Marcos reencarnated into my brother's dog, Jeremy. what's weird thoguh, is that one time my cousin Enrique dreamt with Jeremy, but he said that Jeremy was a mouse/hamter in his dream and that he didn't understand why. but I knew why ;-)
